Intraindividual comparison of circumferential strain using speckle tracking by echocardiography versus CMR feature tracking and myocardial tagging in patients

چکیده
Background Left ventricular myocardial motion analysis and the assessment of regional dysfunction are crucial for the detection and prognosis in different cardiac pathologies. Myocardial tagging (MT) is a cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) based method for tracking myocardial motion, which has been established as reference standard for assessment of strain. Currently, strain can also be assessed by CMR using feature tracking (FT) or by echocardiography with speckle tracking (ST). Aim of our study was to evaluate intraindividually and compare myocardial circumferential strain (Ecc) using MT, FT and ST.

Evaluation of strain and strain rate parameters using two-dimensional speckle-tracking echocardiography in patients with coronary artery disease (Research Article)
The study aimed was to measure left ventricular (LV) strain using speckle tracking echocardiography (STE) for assessment of LV function. Eighty-two subjects (mean age 57±9 years) with suspected chest pain underwent two-dimensional (2D)-echocardiography before coronary angiography. Conventional echocardiographic parameters were used for the assessment of LV function. Longitudinal strain and its ...
متن کاملQuantification of biventricular myocardial function using cardiac magnetic resonance feature tracking, endocardial border delineation and echocardiographic speckle tracking in patients with repaired tetralogy of fallot and healthy controls
BACKGROUND Parameters of myocardial deformation have been suggested to be superior to conventional measures of ventricular function in patients with tetralogy of Fallot (ToF), but have required non-routine, tagged cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) techniques. We assessed biventricular myocardial function using CMR cine-based feature tracking (FT) and compared it to speckle tracking echoca...
متن کاملFeature tracking measurement of dyssynchrony from cardiovascular magnetic resonance cine acquisitions: comparison with echocardiographic speckle tracking
BACKGROUND Analysis of left ventricular (LV) mechanical dyssynchrony may provide incremental prognostic information regarding cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) response in addition to QRS width alone. Our objective was to quantify LV dyssynchrony using feature tracking post processing of routine cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) cine acquisitions (FT-CMR) in comparison to speckle tr...
متن کاملCardiac magnetic resonance feature tracking: a novel method of assessing myocardial strain. Comparison with echocardiographic speckle tracking in healthy volunteers and in patients with left ventricular hypertrophy
Background: Left ventricular longitudinal strain (LV-LS) and strain rate (SR) are sensitive markers of early systolic dysfunction. Aim: To evaluate the feasibility of a novel, cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) based method known as feature tracking (FT) for the assessment of strain and SR, and to compare the CMR based results to those obtained on standard transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) in ...
متن کاملLayer-specific analysis of myocardial deformation for assessment of infarct transmurality: comparison of strain-encoded cardiovascular magnetic resonance with 2D speckle tracking echocardiography.
AIMS Separate analysis of endocardial and epicardial myocardial layer deformation has become possible using strain-encoded cardiovascular magnetic resonance (SENC) and 2D-dimensional speckle tracking echocardiography (Echo). This study evaluated and compared both modalities for the assessment of infarct transmurality as defined by late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) cardiovascular magnetic resona...
